Got the R5 bundle, pretty good

So I finally decided to upgrade my old wheel and got the R5 Direct Drive Wheel Base bundle. It showed up faster than I thought, maybe 5 days to get here in Edinburgh. Setting it up was alright, followed a video on YouTube. The force feedback is way better than my old gear, feels much more realistic. My mates came over and had a go, they were impressed too. Definitely made my sim racing more fun. No complaints really, happy with it.

Oh man, huge upgrade from Thrustmaster. Between Moza and Fanatec, it's pretty close now, but Moza's software is a bit more intuitive imo. Simagic is also solid.

Totally different league than Thrustmaster. Fanatec has some great stuff too, but Moza's direct drive wheel bases feel really good for the price. Hard to say 'better' definitively, but they're definitely competitors.

Yeah, I used it last semester. You usually have to go through one of those verification services like UNiDAYS or Student Beans. It's not a direct code on their site.

Is the R9 better than the R5 for someone getting into direct drive? What's the main difference besides force feedback power?

The R9 is a big step up in terms of force feedback strength and detail. If you can afford it, go for the R9, it's a more immersive experience and gives you more headroom for future upgrades.

R5 is good for a starter direct drive but R9 definitely gives you more grunt and fidelity. The R9 also supports a wider range of wheels and accessories, giving you more options down the line.

i think they ship from the UK so it depends on customs, but usually not too bad. Maybe 10-14 days on average for me in Texas.

Nah, returns were pretty straightforward for me when I exchanged a pedal set. Just follow their instructions and make sure you keep the original packaging.
